Jim Solberg

Jim Solberg, 82, of Munford, passed away on Monday, January 17 at his home. Mr. Solberg was a retired jet mechanic with the U.S. Navy having served in Vietnam. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer and an Instructor Supervisor. Jim loved restoring old cars. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Avis Shelton Solberg; one son, James Solberg, Jr. of Munford; one granddaughter, Amanda (Chris) Rains and three great grandchildren, Lyra Cottingham, Maggie Rains and Nora Rains. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Renee' Solberg. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home with no services planned at this time.
