Jerry Wayne Haley

May 17, 1949 — August 16, 2021

Jerry Wayne Haley, age 72, passed away at his home in Drummonds on Monday, August 16, 2021. Mr. Haley was a Department of Defense Federal Police Officer, retiring after 22 years. During his career, he worked as Security at Parris Island and the Millington Naval Base. Jerry was an avid fisherman and deer hunter, and loved guns. Above all, anyone that knew Jerry knew that he was a jokester. He loved telling jokes, and had many to share with others. Some might even say he never told the same joke twice! Mr. Jerry leaves behind his son, Weston Haley; grandson, Aiden Haley; four brothers, Roy Haley, Frank Haley, Eugene Haley, and Danny Haley; three sisters, Jean Stacy, Tammy Armstrong, and Ruth Mangrum; his uncle, J. B. Chapman, whom he loved as a brother, and many other nieces, nephews, friends and family members. Mr. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Bud” and Martha Brookshire Haley Hedrick, and two brothers, Michael Lynn Haley and Terry Lee Haley. Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Haley will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 23, at Covington Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Bethuel Cemetery in Millington following the service.
