Jeffery "Jeff" Green

Jeffery (Jeff) Wayne Green, 28, passed away on the 29th of September 2017 at his home in Munford.  His funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Atoka, 102 Kimbrough Avenue, Atoka, on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM.  Viewing/reception will begin at 11:00 AM prior to the service.  Following the service, a military burial will be at Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery located at 70 Witherington Road, Mason.   Jeff attended Munford High School then obtained certification as a machinist.  He served as a Specialist in the United States Army Bravo Company from 2008 to 2011, 1st Brigade combat team, 10th Mountain Division out of Fort Drum, New York.  He deployed during operation Enduring Freedom 10-11 to Baglan province in Afghanistan as a Rifleman and machine gunner.  Jeff was highly decorated for his service and received numerous honors.   He is survived by his grandparents, Wayne and Mary Green of Mason and Harold and Joyce Brown of Munford; his great uncle Harlon (Hootie) Brown, his father, Wayne Green Jr. of Mason, his mother, Tracey Brown Johnson of Parsons, TN, his stepfather, James Solberg of Munford, his sister, Joyce Elizabeth (JoBeth) Green of Munford, his step-sister Amanda Solberg of Munford, his girlfriend Jimi Kaye Yarbro and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.   Jeff is now resting in peace in the Lord’s hands.
