Janice Mosley Bagwell, age 83, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Memphis. She was born to A. H. “Hosey” and Idell Zora Wright Mosley on September 30, 1939, in Calhoun County, Mississippi. She worked as a court clerk for Shelby County Chancery Court for over 25 years, where she had many adventures and experiences. During her free time, Janice would play cards, work puzzles, quilt and sew, and enjoy the beauty of nature. She loved the simple things, like when the leaves would start to change in the fall, or watching butterflies as they fluttered by. Her favorite movie was “The Notebook,” and her family might even say that she was similar to the main character “Allie,” in that she was smart, feisty, and as stubborn as they come. Family was always so important to Mrs. Janice, spending time with them, and always being there for them, no matter what. She is survived by her son, Mark (Barbara) Bagwell; three grandchildren, Dustin (Jordan) Bagwell, Blaze (Donald) Tullos, and Paige (Jason) Henderson, whom she loved and helped raise just like her own children, calling them by their full name if ever they were in trouble; five great-grandchildren, Dixon, Charlie, Valeria, Nikolia, and Mikail, who lovingly called her “GiGi,” and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hosey and Idell Mosley, her sister, Anice Vinson, and her brother, James Albert Mosley. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, November 25, at Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will be from 11a.m. until 1p.m., and interment will follow the service in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery, on the grounds of Covington Funeral Home.
