Jammie Smith

Jammie LeAnn Smith, 47, of Burlison, passed away at home on Thursday, June 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Jammie was the baby of her family, and made sure everyone knew it – some might even say she was a “little” spoiled. She was funny, and seemed to have a knack for making others laugh, even when they just didn’t quite feel like it. Jammie, James, or Pooh, no matter what you called her, she was always there for you when you needed her. Country through and through, she was a barefoot-walking, John Deere-loving, got married in a barn, animal-raising, rustic woman. She was a homemaker, mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her. She is survived by her son, Michael Smith; her husband, Mike Smith; her parents, Terry and Cathy Gillihan Wright; her sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Jeff Alsbrook; her brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Rhonda Wright; her aunt, Barbara Gillihan; her best friend since childhood, Jennifer Jo Stewart; her wonderful caregivers, Faye Poindexter and Tee Hale; her beloved pup, Socks, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Bonnie Gillihan and Willie and Gladys Wright. Funeral services for Ms. Jammie will be held at Covington Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 12 noon, with interment to follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Drummonds. Visitation for friends and family will be held the evening prior, at the funeral home from 5pm until 7pm on Tuesday, June 13th.
