James Franklin "Jimmy" Walker

James Franklin (Jimmy) Walker Born July, 17th, 1933. At the age of 88, Passed away at approximately 1:00 pm on March 26, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Memphis TN. Jimmy was known by the community as the owner of Walker Chevrolet. He attended school in Covington. After graduation, he joined the US Army where he served as a paratrooper/Medic. Upon returning to civilian life, Jimmy attended the GM Institute gaining an education to join the family business known as Walker Chevrolet, where he worked until it closed. Jimmy was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of Covington. Jimmy spent many memorable years as a member of the Shriners helping to raise money for the Shriners Children's Hospitals. He was preceded in death by his parents John M. Walker, Sr. and Mary Emma Walker of Covington; his brother, John Walker, Jr. of Covington; two stepsons, David Sullivan and Billy Sullivan, both of Brownsville, TN. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mae Jean Timbes Walker of Covington; two daughters, Alison (Adrian) King, Leigh Ann Walker; one son James F (Jill) Walker; two stepsons, Tony (Tracy) Sullivan, and Andy (Jeanie) Sullivan; one stepdaughter, Dana Sullivan King, 13 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday March 30, 2022 at R.H. Munford Cemetery in Covington.
