James Russell Sanders, Jr.

James Russell “Jim” Sanders, Jr., 74, of Arlington, passed away on Wednesday, May 26 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. Mr. Sanders was a retired systems analysts having worked for Ashland Oil among other companies including Goldsmith’s and FedEx and was an intelligence agent in the U. S. Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Tina Sanders; two sisters, Lana McKee Ruch of Millington and Rosemary Sanders Brewington of Atoka and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jim was a member of the Byars-Hall High School Class of 1964 and was active in the Byars-Hall Club. He was quick witted, proud of his country, loved ancestry and exploring his family heritage, and was fluent in Mandarin Chinese. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home with a private celebration of life service scheduled for a later date.
