James Pruitt

James Arthur Pruitt, age 85, passed away at home on January 25, 2022. Mr. Pruitt retired from Jones Manufacturing after 40 years. In his spare time, he was a woodworker and loved to whittle. Over the years, he made many trinkets and home decorations for his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ann Smith Pruitt; his son, Darryl Pruitt; three grandsons, Jeffrey Pruitt, Jason Pruitt, and Chris Pruitt; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leroy Pruitt and Lawrence Pruitt, and two sisters, Nellie Fleming and Sue Gardner. He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Pruitt; his parents, Charlie and Aurelia Gray Pruitt; two brothers, C. J. Pruitt and William Pruitt, and five sisters, Inez Byrd, Carolyn Pruitt, Barbara Jean Cook, Almeter Jackson, and Jewell Christine Phelps. Interment services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 28, in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington, Tennessee. There is no visitation planned at this time.
