James "Buddy" Martin, Jr., 76, of Humboldt, passed away on Tuesday, April 30 at his home. Buddy was a retired over the road truck driver, having worked for over 50 years. After his retirement, he worked as a diesel mechanic as well as a small engine repairman. He loved working on lawn mowers and was always cutting grass.
He is survived by one sister, Kay (Larry) Parsons of Covington; two grandsons, Wesley (Jennifer) Gordon of Yorkville, TN and Jeffery (Kristin) Gordon of Humboldt; two nieces, April (Tim) Butler of Covington and Tammy (Ricky) Troutman of Ripley; two nephews, Mark (Melissa) Parsons of Millington and Bo (Janice) Maharrey of Covington; six great grandchildren and his beloved dachshund, Sam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and James Martin; his wife of many years, Mary Martin; one son, Richard Martin and one sister, Joyce Maharrey.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 2 at the Covington Funeral Home.
