James T. Goforth

James Goforth, age 81, of Holladay, TN, formerly of Brighton, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022. He was a member of Eagle Creek Baptist Church, and a retired employee of International Harvester, having worked there for over 30 years. Mr. James loved hunting and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman, and wanted to share his hobbies and interests with the grandkids as much as possible. Being out in the woods, or on the water in the pontoon boat, as long as he was with family, he was happy. He is survived by his daughter, Misty Goforth; his son, James (LaSandra) Goforth; five grandchildren, Kane, Mason, Ava, Trey, and Jasmine; one great-grandchild, Jazlyn, and three siblings, Kathy Hobbs, Lawrence (Millie) Goforth, and Donald Ray Goforth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Ann Goforth; his son, Michael Wayne Goforth; his grandson, Michael “Mikey” Dalton Goforth, and his parents, T. S. and Sarah Smith Goforth. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service held at a later date, and Mr. Goforth will be laid to rest beside his wife Janice, in Eagle Creek Cemetery in Holladay, TN.
