Jackie Fred Conner

Jackie Fred Conner, Sr., 82, of Brighton, passed in to Eternity on Friday, January 8. Mr. Conner served in the United States Navy from 1955-1959. He served his community over the years by coaching football, supporting his local HS Booster Club, being a faithful friend and neighbor and was a dental lab owner and technician for over 50 years. Born on February 15, 1938 to the late Jackson and Daisy Conner, he is survived by his beautiful wife of 61 years, Katherine Conner, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by two sons, Jack Conner , Jr. (Gina) and Bart Conner (Christie); five grandchildren, Andrew Conner (Whitney), Lauren Hood (Sky), Mary Conner, Katherine Stallings (Patrick) and Bryant Conner (Jordan); six great grandchildren, Ty Conner, Madison Hood, Neely Christen, Eli Conner, Toby Stallings and Conner Ray Hood and six siblings, Joan Bevil, Pat Smith, Faye Broxton, Elaine McClure, Wanda Robertson and Darrell Conner. He loved his family and was loved by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Conner; a granddaughter, Christen Conner and a brother, Douglas Conner. Funeral services for Mr. Conner will be private. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Gateway Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
