Gerald Wayne Bomar

May 19, 1940 — January 2, 2023

Gerald Wayne Bomar, age 82, entered into the presence of our Lord and Saviour on January 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving Family, after a brief illness. He was born May 19, 1940, in, and was a lifelong resident of, Munford, TN. He attended Munford Schools and was a graduate of Munford High School Class of 1958, where he received the Outstanding Industrial Arts Student Award. He met his wife of 61 years, Patsy, in High School and they were married on August 11, 1961. He was a loving Grandfather, "Papa" to his grandchildren, always there to lend support and never missing a recital, cheer competition, choir concerts, graduation or family holidays. An avid supporter of Munford High School Athletics, Gerald Wayne regularly attended Cougar games. He was a talented wood craftsman, farmer, and extremely competitive tractor pull enthusiast. He was generous and shared his many and various talents. Humble, soft spoken and a gentleman of few words, his sense of fairness left positive impressions on high school classmates, Family, friends and coworkers alike. A testament to his lasting impact on others is the number of all of those who kindly visited him during his brief illness. A man of deep, abiding faith; he was a longtime, active member of Campground United Methodist Church for nearly 60 years, having served his Church community with his generous spirit in countless ways. Mr. Bomar was predeceased by his parents, Silas and Lois Bomar, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Bomar, sons Patrick (Philip) Bomar of Collierville, Bryan (Ronni) Bomar, of Munford and grandchildren, Bryanna and Kyle, brother Bobby (Peggy) Bomar of Drummonds and sister Doris Ann Mathis of Munford. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Austin Bibb, John Dylan Conrad, Thomas Clayton Conrad, Sonny Forbess, J.J. Joyner, Eric Price, Ronald Malone, Patrick Larmine, and Tuck Williams. The Family would like to extend special thanks to The Staff of Avalon Hospice as well as the extended Family and many Friends who visited Gerald Wayne at his home over the past many days. We are grateful for your presence in lifting his spirits (and ours) during this difficult time, while he was making the transition to his heavenly home.
