Gene Strickland Willis

Gene Strickland Willis, 82, of Munford, passed away on Tuesday, January 3 at Baptist Hospital Tipton. Ms. Gene was a homemaker. She was a loving aunt who was always there for her family and brightened everyone’s day! She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Melvin Willis. She is survived by one sister, Betty Townsend; four nieces, Brenda Jones, Pauline Manley, Teri Manning and Alicia Gutowski; one nephew, Bill Townsend; great niece, Shannon Oakley, and great-great nieces and nephews, Samantha Oakley, Sarah Oakley, Weston Hoots, McKenzie Towns, Kim Collver, Keith Townsend, Anthony Gutowski and Lexie Gutowski. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in R. H. Munford Cemetery in Covington. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
