Gary Ballard, 70, of Randolph, passed away on Wednesday, May 1. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Randolph Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Ballard was an pipe insulator with Penn A Kem and a member of the Randolph United Methodist Church where he was very active. At the church, he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Lay Leader, Sunday School teacher, MYF counselor and volunteered for any and all needs that arose in the church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ballard; two daughters, Tina (Glenn) Russell of Gilt Edge and Tonya (Jimmy) Spray of Randolph; an honorary son, Cem Karakas of Turkey; two brothers, Cary (Kay) Ballard of Burlison and Ronald Ballard of Burlison and six grandchildren, Austin Russell, Garrett Spray, Ethan Earnest, Brady Spray, Hailey Russell and Brianna Spray. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Eloise Curtis Ballard; one sister, Karen Campbell and a sister-in-law, Cathy Ballard.
