Franklin “Wayne” Delashmit, 80, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, September 15. He was co-owner of Delashmit Motors and served six years in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve. Born in Glen Springs, to the late Osborne Franklin and Thelma Pauline Gillihan Delashmit, he is survived by his wife, Jan Crawford Delashmit; two children, Louann (Robin) Hamilton and Jackie (Lee) Delashmit; two step-children, Jamie Elliott Langley and Lisa Elliott (Will) Pittman; five grandchildren, Sherri Hamilton (Justin) Bradford, Andi Katherine Delashmit (Kenny) Edwards, Michael (Amber) Hamilton, Jacob Delashmit and Daniel Langley; numerous great grandchildren and siblings Nancie (Henry) Purdy and Sharon Beloate. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annette Kidd Tucker, step-son, Tony Elliott and brother, Roy Delashmit. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
