Dorothy “Dot” Bennett Peyton, age 89, passed away at Covington Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, July 9, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Jacky (Teresa) Peyton, of Ripley; her daughter, Michelle Peyton James, of West Palm Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Emily (Zach) Cook, of Covington, Caroline (Blake) McCool, of Colorado Springs, CO, Mallory (Luke) Keller, of Atlanta, GA, and McKenzie Peyton James, of San Diego, CA; six great-grandchildren, Jonah Cook, Georgia Cook, Charlotte Grace Cook, Eli McCool, Emme McCool, and Eden Keller, and four siblings, Bobby Bennett, of Gleason, Juanita Logan, of Munford, Donald Bennett, of Memphis, and Betty Huggins, of Melbourne, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Peyton, her parents, Robert and Ruby Tubbs Bennett, and her brother, Gene Bennett. Funeral services for Ms. Dot will be held at 4pm on Friday, July 15, 2022, at the Covington Funeral Home chapel, with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends and family will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
