Donald Wayne Hudson, 73, of Drummonds, TN, died Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at McLaren Bay Region Hospital, Bay City, Michigan. Son of the late Edward Ace and Evelyn (Boyd) Hudson, Donald was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 17, 1948. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. At the end of his enlistment, he continued to work at the Millington Naval Base doing custodial work for over 20 years until his retirement. In 1985, he married the former Martha Ann Collier. Donald enjoyed fishing, the Mississippi River, western movies, John Wayne, camping, going out to eat with his wife, Big Rig racing, bluegrass music, and spending time with his grandkids. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Martha Ann; children Tracy (John) Carrolton and Mark Ace (Jessica) Hudson; stepchildren Lisa (Jimmy) Elam, Vickie (Mark) Gillissipe, and Ronald Palmer; grandchildren Haley (Anthony) Ewing, Valerie (Samantha) Hudson, Rebecca Hudson, Haley Hudson, Alexis Hudson, Serenity Hudson, Tommy (Jessica) Hudson, Charlie Overstreet, Brandon Overstreet, and Josh Overstreet; step grandchildren Heather Smith, Holly Palmer, and John Palmer; great grandchildren Alila Kirk, Leo Hudson, Evona Ewing, Mason Hudson, Jayce Cobb, Grant Cobb, Harper Cobb, Thomas Hudson JR, Gabriel Hudson, Kian Pendleton, and Nixon Hudson; step great granddaughter Charlotte; brother Robert (Sheryl); and sister Glenda “Bobbi” Cox. Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his son Jefferey Wayne Hudson and brothers Jerry Hudson and Jackie Hudson. Services for Donald will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, from the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home 1200 West Wheeler Street, Midland, Michigan. Pastor Larry Moe will officiate with committal to follow at Midland City Cemetery with Full Military Honors to be presented by the American Legion Post #165. Donald’s family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the family in the care of Mark.
