Donnie Brumley, 55, of Covington, passed away on Friday, January 15. Mr. Brumley was a long haul truck driver with Longistics, and a mechanic on the side. He had a high school education and common sense smarts. He loved working on cars, ATV’s, motorcycles, and pretty much anything with an engine. In his free time, he liked to indulge in the slots, browse flea markets, and spend time with his family and friends. Donnie leaves behind his mother, Dorothy Brumley; his wife, Linda Brumley; his step-daughter, Tanya Stubbs; two step-sons, JR Scott and Glynn Scott; an adopted daughter, Destiny Brumley, and five grandchildren, Haylee Scott, Erika Scott, Ethen Scott, Hannah Scott, and Casey Jones. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Brumley, Sr. Donnie was there for anyone who needed it, whether it was to work on your car, sit and talk about life, or even help you move. His generosity was overwhelming and his heart was full of love. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Services for Mr. Brumley will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, at the Covington Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
