Coleman Cox, 88, of Burlison, passed away on Monday, December 17. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Smyrna Cemetery in Burlison. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Cox was a retired machinist with International Harvester, a farmer, coached basketball for 10 years at both Burlison and Garland Elementary Schools, was a former school bus driver and a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joyce Burlison Cox; three daughters, Charlotte Cox (Richard) Kelley, Anita Cox (Jimmy) Coats and Michelle Cox (Chris) Laxton, all of Burlison; six grandchildren, Kerry (Brad) Williams, Jason (Rachel) Coats, Leslie (Michael) Roane, Cristi (Brian) Oswalt, Drew (Brandi) Laxton and Meghan (Michael) Nolan and 12 great grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by a son, Coleman Herbert “Coley” Cox, Jr.
