Christy Rather

Christy Lynn Baine Brackey Rather, age 50, passed away at her home in Covington on Monday, November 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She worked as an event coordinator for Baker Donelson Law Firm, as well as a caterer for both local and large events in the Mid-South, her favorite being Hog Wild BBQ.  She loved arts and crafts, and shopping for her precious grandbabies.

She is survived by her husband, Sam Rather; her sons, Cody (Mendi) Brackey and Luke (Alliyah Medley) Brackey; her grandson Owen David Brackey, and one grandchild on the way; her mother, LouAnn Bell Turner; her sister Sabrina Baine, and countless other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony “Tony” Baine, and her step-father, Albert “Al” Turner.

A memorial celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 10^th at Covington Funeral Home.   The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Cremation is under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
