Charlotte Joy Forsythe Morrow, widow of Thomas G. Morrow, passed away at the age of 85 on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at RiverWick Assisted Living Center in Savannah, Tennessee.
She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee, and during her working years, a medical office manager. After retirement, she dove right in to working around her home. She loved being by the water and would often be found outside fishing or doing yard work, driving her lawn tractor, picking up sticks, and wielding a chainsaw well on into her 80s – you name it, she could do it!
Mrs. Charlotte also knew her way around the kitchen. Her pecan and lemon merengue pies were renowned, and always turned out perfect, even though she worried that the merengue would “weep,” and she enjoyed a good filet mignon cooked medium-rare or crab legs when the opportunity arose.
Mrs. Charlotte is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Pam Morrow, of Thompson Station, TN; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Keely and William Judson of Columbus, Georgia; her great-granddaughter, Iris Judson, of Columbus, Georgia; her brother-in-law, Jimmy Dayl Morrow, and her sister-in-law, Birdie Sue Morrow.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded to Heaven by her parents, Willie Lucius and Catherine Land Forsythe, her twin brothers, Lutrell and Montell Forsythe, and her parents-in-law, Charlie W. and Clara Agnes Morrow.
Funeral services for Mrs. Charlotte Morrow will be held at Covington Funeral Home on Monday, August 26th at 2p.m., with interment to follow in Ripley Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband. Brother Allen Guyer will officiate the services. Visitation for friends and family will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Charlotte’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family also requests that all those in attendance at her celebration of life service do not wear black, and instead dress comfortably.
