Charles Daniel Thornton

Charles Daniel “Packer” Thornton, 57, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, July 26 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis after a lengthy illness. Mr. Thornton was a glass installer for Ted’s Glass in Covington. He is survived by one daughter, Kristi McDivitt of Burlison; one grandson, Grayson McDivitt of Burlison; and one sister, Carrie Edwards of Atoka. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Helen Thornton and one brother, David Thornton. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 30 at the First Baptist Church in Covington. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
