Cecil Leroy Covert

Cecil Leroy Covert, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at his home in Covington. He retired from Jay-Ton Construction as well as DuPont, was a veteran of the United States Navy, and a member of Holly Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Covert is survived by his wife, Gloria; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Joel Robinson, of Covington; daughter-in-law, Sheila Covert, of Covington; grandchildren, Lisa (Brad) Trusty and Daniel (Shelby) Covert, of Covington, and Jessica (Rickey) Renfrow, of Drummonds; great-grandchildren, Autumn Bradshaw, Jase Smith, Gage Smith, Lincoln Covert and Kye Covert, all of Covington, and Alston Renfrow, Brystol Claire Renfrow, and Bentlee Renfrow, of Drummonds, and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Jake Alles, Betty and Larry Brown, and Barbara and John Finney, all of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary “Knobby” Covert, his parents, Ralph Jesse and Delores Short Covert, and his sister, Clara Miller. Graveside services for Mr. Cecil will be held at 2p.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Indian Creek Cemetery in Brighton. There is no visitation planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Holly Grove Children’s Camp Fund.
