Carol Ammons

Mrs. Linda Carol Ammons, 69, of Ripley, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at her residence. She was a member of Ripley First Baptist Church and a retired teacher with the Lauderdale County Board of Education. The widow of Richard Ammons, she leaves her daughter Julie (Brent) Burton of Steinbach, M. B.; sons Bill McWherter of Covington and Matt (Jenny) McWherter of Brighton; brothers Wayne (Gail) Douglas and Gary (Belinda) Douglas, both of Ripley; and grandchildren Carson McWherter, Logan Rose, Brooke Burton, Addie McWherter, Molly McWherter, and Leighton McWherter. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Inez Ingram Douglas. Visitation for Mrs. Ammons will be 6-8 PM Friday, May 13, with funeral services officiated by Rev. Matt Hawkins 11AM Saturday, May 14, all at Ripley First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Henning. The family asks that any memorials be made to Helen Tucker Adult Developmental Center, 2669 Hwy 51N, Ripley, TN 38063.
