Brenda Newman

Brenda Newman, age 73, of Brighton, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. She worked as a hairdresser for most of her life, and when she wasn’t fixing hair for family and friends, she was a homebody. She enjoyed being outside, tending to her garden and soaking up the sun. She loved her flowers, but roses were her favorite, so much so that her C. B. handle was “Ramblin’ Rose.” She is survived by her son, Chris (Angela) Newman; her daughter, Crystal (Richard) Gray; her grandchildren, Joseph Newman, Brittany Canady, and Hayden Gray; two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Dixie; four sisters, Dessie Fite, Susan Shelly, Charlotte Hammond, and Martha Bowers, and two brothers, Norris Roach and Leckie Roach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Newman, and although she will be missed deeply by her family and friends, she has now found peace, having been reunited in Heaven with her dear beloved Roger. Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda will be held at Covington Funeral Home on Saturday, April 8 at 1pm, with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 11am until service time at the funeral home.
