Brenda Kay Mashburn

Brenda Kay Mashburn, 74, of Garland, passed away on Wednesday, April 26 at her home. A 1966 graduate of Byars Hall High School, she worked at Jamison and Fisher Insurance in Covington for 41 year prior to her retirement and was a member of the Garland Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mandy Mashburn (David) Lynch of Covington; one son, John Anthony (Leann) Mashburn of Covington; one grandson, Paxton Lynch; four sisters, Waverly Seward of Arlington, Peggy Wallace of Chicago, IL, Barbara Bonney of Clemons, NC and Vicki Smith of Brentwood, TN and two brothers, Wilbur Kobeck of Bartlett and Tommy Kobeck of Brandon, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pauline Ferrell Kobeck; her husband, Johnny Mashburn and three sisters, Linda Delashmit, Shirley Gay and Diane Mason. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Garland Baptist Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
