Bradley Dean Tinsman

June 22, 1949 — August 7, 2021

Bradley Dean Tinsman, 72, of Atoka, passed away on August 7, 2021. He was born June 22, 1949 in Cottonwood, IL to Harland Tinsman and Retha Titus Tinsman. They divorced years later and his mother married Pete Brock. His father married Edna Young. He grew up in Mattoon, IL where he was raised and loved by both families. Brad proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 25 years where he earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was a veteran of Desert Storm prior to his retirement. After leaving the Navy, Brad worked for Cole Lumber Company. He later opened a clock shop at Upscale Antiques in Covington where he sold and repaired clocks. Brad loved music and spent most weekends listening to local bands and musicians around Tipton County and the surrounding area. He recorded videos of the bands and musicians to promote their talents. He loved going to Reelfoot Lake Jam each September to record videos and listen to all of the musicians who attended. Brad also loved animals and spent many hours with his two dogs and three cats. Brad is survived by his wife of 36 years, Darlene Steele Tinsman; his son Bradley Tinsman, Jr. of CA.; his daughter, K.C. Rogers of N.M; his step-son Matthew Crossno of Cordova; his sisters, Debbie Dieffenbach, Dixie Vaughn, Deana Tinsman, Tonya David, Tammy Blakemore, all of IL, Dee Mattox of GA and Elaine Downing of DE; his brothers, Doug Brock, Harland Tinsman, Jr., and Randy Tinsman, all of IL; his grandchildren, Brianna Usher, Skylar Rose Tinsman, Rylee Nicole Tinsman, Kairin Eileen Rogers, Jocelyn Louise Rogers, Katlyn Kolbe Tinsman, and Kinley Crossno and his great-great-granddaughters,Cassidy Rose Usher and Alexandra Lily-Rae Usher. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, James Tinsman. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 28 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Covington Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.), P.O. Box 415, Covington, TN 38019.
