Billie Doris Christmas, 88, of Shelbyville, TN, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024. Ms. Christmas was a homemaker. In addition to homemaking, she helped her husband with his business, Joe Christmas Gin in Mason, TN and Donna, TX
She is survived by one son, Joe "Buddy" (Christine) Christmas, Jr. of Mason; one daughter, Elizabeth Jo "Libby" Christmas of Shelbyville, TN; four grandchildren, Ann Margaret (Daniel ) Cocke of Mason, Kathryn Elizabeth (Gibb) McGowan of Covington, Jo Alexandra (John Michael) Spoon of Mason and Elizabeth Lawrence of Franklin, TN and five great grandchildren, William McCadden "Cad" Cocke, Caury Christmas Cocke, Wayne Gibbons "Penn" McGowan V, Margaret Harris McGowen and Paul Chambers "Champ" Spoon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Earl and Lenoir “Laya” McCleish; her husband, Joe Elliott Christmas; one grandson, McCleish "Mac" Christmas Benham and one great grandson, Elliott Christmas McGowan.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17 at the Oakwood Cemetery in Brownsville, TN. Rev. Dr. Scott Sealy will officiate. There is no visitation planned and friends are invited to meet at the cemetery.
