Betty Jane Honeycutt, 60, of Brighton, passed away on Monday, June 1. Ms. Honeycutt was a retired medical lab technician after 30 years, an active member of the Salem Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School, and enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, reading and watching the Olympics. She is survived by her husband of 43 years and the love of her life, Tim Honeycutt; one son, Clay (Sara) Honeycutt of Covington; one daughter, Amber Honeycutt of Memphis; four grandchildren, Clayton Honeycutt of Brighton, Cody Strickland and Aaron Strickland, both of Covington and Jay Brown of Brighton; her father, Robert (Sylvia) Poole of Covington; her mother, Jean Poole of Brighton; three brothers, Larry (Jan) Poole of Covington, Mike (Tina) Lemley of Brighton, and Kenny Lemley of Covington, and her twin sister, Donna (Scott) Wilson of Millington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 4 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Salem ARP Cemetery in Atoka. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
