Barbara Gail Patrick

Barbara Gail “Warden” Pruitt Patrick, 63, of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Tipton. Ms. Patrick was a self-employed restaurateur, with Giltedge Café, and a member of Covington Assembly of God, where she sang her heart out in the choir. Ms. Barbara was a kind and loving soul, always seeing the good in people, but wasn’t afraid to “set you straight” when you needed it. “The Warden” leaves behind one son, Chris Patrick; two daughters, Gwen Brasfield and Colleen Nelson; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, George Pruitt, Ben Pruitt, Shawn Pruitt, and Clay Pruitt; three sisters, Nora McCommon, Darlene Wooldrige, and Tammy Umbra. Because she never met a stranger, Ms. Barbara also leaves a host of other friends and neighbors that knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley “Pete” Patrick; and her parents, George Willie and Shirley Mashburn Pruitt. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 24 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
