B. L. Stafford

B. L. "Poodle" Stafford, 83, of Burlison, passed away on Saturday, September 2 after a lengthly illness.  Mr. Stafford was a retired diesel mechanic, retired truck driver and attended the Henning Assembly of God Church.  

He is survived by two daughters, Vonda Kay Stafford (Joe) Elam of Ripley and Rhonda Fay Stafford King of Arlington; one sister, Julie Ann Geary of Ripley; five brothers, Charles Stafford of Drummonds, Raymond Stafford of Munford, Jerry Stafford of Covington, Larry Stafford of Brighton and Robert Stafford of Munford; seven grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George Sampson and Freida Lucille Stafford; his wife, Sula Stafford; one son, Ray Stafford; two sisters, Lillie Wilson and Mamie Taylor and one brother, George Sampson Stafford, Jr.  

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Marys Chapel Cemetery in Ripley.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
