Ashanty Herrera, 34, of Brighton, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Ms. Herrera worked as a front desk agent for a hotel service, with a dream of becoming a veterinary technician. She was a kind and gentle soul, with a big heart. She loved reading, and had quite a vast collection of books. Dancing, singing, watching horror movies, and playing practical jokes on her friends and family were also among her favored pastimes. Ms. Herrera was a determined woman, independent, and at times maybe even a little stubborn, but she loved her family and friends unconditionally. Ashanty Herrera leaves behind her children, which were the pride and joy of her life, two sons, Jordan Herrera and Davin Herrera; two daughters, Jada Herrera and Dominque Herrera; one step-daughter, Desiree Burton, and one grandson, Jon Woods, and her other half, her significant other, Nick McConnell, for whom she was very thankful. In addition, she will be remembered by her mother, Mary Herrera; two brothers, Chris (Brandy) Herrera and Joshua Herrera; two sisters, Maria (Chris) Deer and Laura (Corey) Herrera Hinrichs; her grandmother, Margarita “Mami” Herrera, and many other family members and friends. Ashanty was preceded in death by her grandfather, Cesar Ernesto Herrera, Sr.; her father, Cesar Ernesto Herrera, Jr., and the father of her children, Corey Stilson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, at Covington Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m.
