Annette Peppers, 72, of Memphis, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 31 after a lengthy illness.
Affectionately known as everyone’s mom, she loved to babysit. She was known as a spur of the moment person and it wasn’t unusual for her to take up to seven kids swimming, fishing, to concerts, movies or even to Opryland. A vibrant and outgoing person, she spent the last 10 years in a wheelchair but that didn’t dampen her spirits. In her later years, she was known as “grandma” to the neighborhood kids and even to the hospice nurses who cared for her. She loved that name!
She was married to the love of her life, James Henry "Jr." Peppers on Valentine’s Day, 1966 and they spent 58 years together. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Beverly Peppers; her son; Dwayne Peppers; a brother, Eric Scott; a sister, Sarah Baker; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 4 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
