America Palazola, age 39, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Baptist Hospital-Memphis. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, and although the doctors only thought she had two years to live, America was a fighter, stubborn, proud, and determined, and continued living her life, her way, for four years. She saw her fair share of struggles, and was dealt a couple “bad-hands,” but she never let anything break her spirit. Those that knew her knew that she had a heart of gold, and looked at the world with child-like wonder. America was a free-spirit, and her family will miss her dearly. She is survived by her sister, Francesca (Sidney) Blackwood; her brother, William (Michelle) Ciapponi; nieces and nephews, Jay Blackwood, Taylor Crawford, Kayla Ciapponi, Ella Kate Ciapponi, Kierra Figueroa; great niece, Nivia Figueroa; close family, Amanda Faurbo and Brittany Palazola, and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Palazola and Shannon Lee Coats. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 7, in R. H. Munford Cemetery in Covington. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
