Alma Daniels Shires, 86, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, August 24. Ms. Shires was the former owner of A&B Flea Market. She is survived by four sons, Billy (Denise) Shires of Covington, Jerry (Pamm) Shires of Brighton, Tim (Renee) Shires of Covington and Kim (Brenda) Shires of Covington; one daughter, Debbie (Milton) Kellum of Covington; four brothers, Lynn Daniels, Johnny Daniels and Jimmy Daniels, all of Channahon, IL, Oneal Daniels of Radcliff, KY and Davie Daniels, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL; three sisters, Marie Cox of Brighton, Margaret Stafford of Memphis and Verna Mae Overton of Channahon, IL; her caregiver of several years, Kristy Thompson and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Ruby Daniels; her husband, Therrel “Bill” Shires and one daughter, Alice Ruth Shires. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 27 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 26 at the funeral home.
