Allan Rose, 62, of Covington, passed away on Saturday, December 24 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A lifelong entrepreneur, Allan joined the Rose Family business in 1977 and started the Civil Division of Rose Construction. While still managing the civil division of Rose Construction, he started APC Rentals and grew that company to a successful commercial real estate company. While serving as President and General Manager of APC Rentals, he also served as a partner and general manager of Rose Fabricating and Hydratrek. Allan’s business acumen, integrity, commitment to excellence, vision and work ethic has been a blessing to hundreds of families throughout his career. Allan was an active member of First Baptist Church Covington, where he was a member of the Property and Space Committee. He could often be seen but never heard as he faithfully worked with other members of the committee to ensure that the church property, both inside and out, was well maintained. One of the last projects that Allan completed is the walking trail, cross and fountain at First Baptist Church, which will forever be a testament to his philanthropic heart and love for his church and his Lord. Allan believed that raising Kingdom Defenders was one of the most important things he could do to ensure that his grandchildren would grow up in the America that he loved. He was passionate about Christian education and was a strong supporter of Tipton Christian Academy. Local charities and missions were also important to Allan and he demonstrated that by his generosity. Allan leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years, Judy Byrd Rose; one son, Clayton Allan Rose of Memphis, three daughters, Casey Rose (Keith) Anderson of Covington, Kelly Rose (Jordan) Kinney of Brighton and Jessica Rose (Tyler) Wood of Covington; five grandchildren, Baylor Anderson, Mollie Keith Anderson, Cora Kinney, Sophie Kinney and Maggie Kinney; and three brothers, Randy (Amy) Rose of Hendersonville, TN, Paul (Nancy) Rose of Covington and Warren (Terrie) Rose of Westmorland, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coy and Jeanette Rose. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28 at the First Baptist Church Covington with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at the church and again one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. The family requests that donations be made to either The First Baptist Church Building Fund or the TCA Building Fund.
