Alice Massengill

Alice Massengill, 72, of Covington, passed away on Tuesday, December 13 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Ms. Massengill was a retired quality control inspector at World Color Press, a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church and a mom to very many. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Farris Massengill; one daughter, Missy Ross of Denton, TX; one son, Neal Massengill of Braden; six grandchildren, Maegan Smith of Covington, Trevor Smith of Ripley, Cody Massengill of Memphis, Madison Ross of Knoxville, Reed Massengill of Covington and Jessie Ross of Knoxville; two great grandchildren, Jameson Smith of Covington and Ophelia Lester of Covington; four sisters, Martha Archer of Millington, Evelyn Laxton of Munford, Beverly Crowe of Rosemark, Deborah Ramsey of Atoka and two brothers, Barry Sigler and Larry Sigler, both of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alice Sigler, four sisters, Helen Wilson, Jo Ann Collins, Marie Atkins and Pat Belk and one brother, Bobby Sigler. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 17 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or LeBonheur Childrens Hospital.
