Betty Burns Betts May 9, 1928 - July 31, 2017 Betty Burns Betts, 89, of Atoka, passed away on Monday, July 31. Services for Mrs. Betts will be conducted on Wednesday, August 2 at Salem Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery. A visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, prior to the services. Mrs. Betts was born on May 9, 1928 in Richburg, South Carolina to Ed and Lula Burns. She attended Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC. Betty was a homemaker and member of Salem ARP Church for 64 years where she was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Ladies' Circle Group. She was a member of the Salem Garden Club and Tipton Academy Mother's Club. Mrs. Betts is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Sloan Betts, her parents, her sister, Flora Martin and two infant sons. She is survived by her daughters, Beth (Kerry) Regen of Atoka and Jane Ellen Bird of Brighton and her four grandchildren, Rebecca Regen, Sloan Regen, Rachel Bird and Emily Bird. The family of Mrs. Betts would like to thank her caregivers, Pam (Gary) and Quadaisha Sanders, Heather Gray and Crossroads Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
