Joseph Arthur Roman

Joseph Arthur Roman June 18, 1935 – June 17, 2017 Joseph Arthur Roman was born on June 18, 1935 in Chicago. He died suddenly on June 17, 2017 at his home in Drummonds. Joe was a lifelong bachelor and was retired honorably from the U.S. Air Force. A native of Chicago, he enjoyed many pursuits including music, operating a sheet music store in Chicago, a chauffeur driver and an over the road trucker. After his retirement, he kept busy tending his chickens, selling fresh eggs at local farmers’ markets and also tending to his goats and donkeys. He also dabbled in painting pictures. He was a member of the St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Covington. He is survived by his sister, Mary R. Lopez of Berwyn, IL and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Petra Roman; his brother, Jesse Roman and his sister, Josephine Roman. Per his request, his final resting place will be next to his parents at Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside, Illinois. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 24, at 9:30 a.m. at St Alphonsus Catholic Church.
